Patrick Polischuk
Research Associate
Patrick Polischuk is a Research Associate for the Synthetic Biology Project. He received his BA in Political Science from the University of California at San Diego where he focused on International Relations. He earned an MA in International Science and Technology Policy from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University where he focused on the creation of water quality trading markets as enabled by distributed sensor networks.
During his studies he worked with the Indo-US Science & Technology Forum where he managed the scientific peer review process for grant applications. Prior to joining the Project he worked with the Foresight & Governance Project at the Woodrow Wilson Center, where he analyzed the feasibility of an EPA presence within the virtual world Second Life and researched carbon offset options for the Center.
Patrick is currently working on an NSF-funded project to apply prediction markets to the emerging field of synthetic biology.
